The late Kaweesi was an international ‘medical informatics practitioner’, with a Bachelors in Software Engineering & Application Development, he built Electronic medical record Systems (EMRs) and several supplementing tools running in hundreds of Hospitals & clinics around the world. He has supported several international NGOs and governments as an employed Software Developer over the years and has travelled to so many countries across the globe. He started his programming career after being introduced to it by Kayiwa Daniel when he shared his interest in the career with him at his home, Kaweesi read a number of programming books from Kayiwa before his university that made him knowledgeable earlier enough. In his journey as a programmer, he then worked on projects where he received Google $5500 student funding during each of his second and third years through Google Summer of Code program after which he moved on and has since then worked for a number of software companies.
“I remember praying in my earlier years as a student, God; please help me to understand programming as soon as possible so that i can serve you with it” Joseph Kaweesi
Most importantly though, Kaweesi was a very passionate Christian, although raised a catholic, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal saviour and joined the Seventh-day Adventist church during his upper high school through a week of prayer organised at Kennedy SS after which he became nick named ‘pastor’ by his fellow students resulting from advancing into an eloquent young preacher. “after high school, I constantly was impressed to remain a minister after I had joined Software Engineering, the impression was strong that I received about 2 dreams of Jesus coming back and after beholding Him on the clouds ran to inform others which left me in fear that I needed to do it soon, else it would be too late when Christ’s second Advent becomes a present happening” Joseph Kaweesi
